# 119 “the system”

just a thought

Some people love to get lost in a good book. Not me. I NEVER KNOW WHAT FRICKEN PAGE I’M ON!!!

deflect the reflect

The health and wellness experts will tell us that we need to ‘self reflect’ as a means of finding happiness or meaning in our lives. Quite frankly, I’m sick of ‘self reflecting’. All I do is self reflect. I self reflect a little too much. I wish I could not self reflect. It’s more damaging to me than helpful. I’m in a self reflect time loop every day. My self reflection is like people trying to find true love on Tinder. I want to ‘not reflect’ and move on.

break the brain

My 4 year old son gets a ‘brain break’ at summer school. I didn’t really know that the demands of summer school were so high that 4 year olds needed a brain break. I’ve seen the homework he has brought back home. He drew an elephant. He colored in the letter “K”. He practiced writing his name. I guess he is really pushing his brain to the limits. I’m glad the teachers are giving him a brain break. I don’t want him to learn too much.

cheap lender

I don’t like lending money to my friends because I don’t like asking for it back. It’s not a easy process. You’d think it was. It should be easy as, “hey… you got my $10 I lent you?”. But its not when you’re a person who tends to avoid conflict. The person you lent it to makes you feel cheap. “Oh look at cheap Curt everyone! He wants his money back. Little baby wants his pennies back… here’s your $10 you cheap @ss.”
So if you want free money just ask me to lend you a few dollars.

don’t blame me

I’m good at blaming others. It’s fun to blame others and take no accountability for your actions. You get to live a life free of blame. I need to stop though. It’s not healthy. I look at it like this-we are all our own CEO of our own body. We make the decisions. We tell ourselves what to do, how to do, and when to do it. Everyone is a CEO of themselves. How do you want to run your company? You want to be successful or run into the ground? Right now my company of blaming others is doing great as me as the CEO.

the system

I want to work at a job where I get to blame the ‘system’ on the computer for not being able to help customers. You ever hear people at hotels, the airport, or car rental place say, “Sorry, its the system. I can’t process it. It’s the system. I can’t do anything about it. Yep… the system won’t allow me to input your request.” I just want to keep blaming the ‘system’. No one can get mad at you because it’s the system’s fault.

go cart

Whenever I go shopping I see customers in the parking lot happily give there carts to the cart attendant as if they are making the cart attendant’s day. “Would you like another cart?” No, I don’t think they want another shopping cart while they are pushing 10 carts back to the store. These carts don’t make cart attendant’s happy. You know what makes these cart attendants happy? Less carts and more Mountain Dew.

vitamin (you won’t) c

My son was not listening in the morning before going to school so we took away his Vitamin C gummy. We use supplements as means of punishment. That’s when you know your kid is living a good life. We are essentially punishing his immune system. If he keeps acting up we are going to take away his toothpaste and if he really doesn’t listen no more soap.

doogie howswer moment

This blog felt like a self help blog that didn’t help anyone. I hope everyone doesn’t self reflect on this or blame me for reading this. Remember, you’re your own CEO. If you need to punish your kids, don’t take my advice, don’t take away his vitamin C, be a good human and turn your own carts to the shopping cart corral, and if something is not going your way blame the system. It’s all the system’s fault.
